Link
Link, the hero of this story. Link seems to be an ordinary boy, but while he was wandering the fields of hyrule he happened upon an old woman in trouble. Fighting off the monsters that attacked her showed his courage, and Impa, the woman he saved, told him of Princess Zelda's plight, how she had been kidnapped by the dark lord Ganon, and of the Triforce's of Wisdom and Power.
Burning with a sense of justice, Link resolved to save Zelda, but Ganon was a powerful opponent. He held the Triforce of Power. And so, in order to fight off Ganon, Link had to bring the scattered eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom together to rebuild the mystical Triangle. If he couldn't do this, there would be no chance Link could fight his way into Death Mountain where Ganon lived.
