Basic Info & Submitting to this Section:

Please include any extra information you find relevant to what you are submitting. More is better than less. Below is are basic forms and some extra guidelines follow. Use this and email the info to the gallery staff at historyofhyrule.fanworks@gmail.com. You do not need to include all the information, but requesting frequent changes slows everything down, so please try to be as thorough as you would eventually like it to be. Anything you don't include will simply be left blank and we will assume you just didn't want that info posted. If you are submitting more than one piece/group/chapter in your email; use a form for each piece/group so it is clear which info goes with what. If you have any questions, you can email us or ask on this thread.

Additional Submission Info:

  • Important notes can be found below.

Stories & Fanfiction Email Submission Form: Copy & Paste

  • Username:
  • Avatar: (Any 100x100 image we can use to represent you)
  • Title:
  • Number of Chapters:
  • Finished or Ongoing (pick one)
  • Date:
  • Setting:
  • Rating: (Pick one: Children/Teens/Young Adults)
  • Summary: (500 words or less)
  • Critiques Welcome: Yes/No

Explanations:

  • Number of Chapters: Just the current number that you are sending in. Please send in all the chapters you have finished at once. You do not have to break them up between emails, just make sure the chapter breaks are clear- like by having numbers and/or titles separating them.
  • Finished or Ongoing: Your short story or chapter needs to be finished before you send it in, but that doesn't mean your overall story has to be finished. If there are more chapters to come, please select "ongoing." If you eventually send in the last chapter- that's when you choose "finished." If you think you finished the story, but decide at a later date that you want to write a continuation, that's okay as well. Just let us know it is ongoing when you send the next part in!
  • Date: You can give us the date you started, and the date you finished, or the date you finished each chapter. (If you do it by chapter, just post the date next to the chapter title.
  • Setting: This could be which game(s) the story takes place in.
  • Rating: What ages do you think it would be safe for? G, PG, PG-13. We can not accept graphic material.
  • Additional Info: You can include any additional info you think is relevant. Such as parings.

VERY Important Notes:

  • We can not copy and paste formatted text. If you would like bold and italics to show up in your writing, you will need to do it with BBCode.
  • Go here to find out about the BBCode for our forum.
  • Here is the basic BBCode guide.
  • Please do not format text for anything but bold and italic.
  • Center should only be used for special occasions or for poems.
  • On occasion, we can insert an image for you if it is 100% yours and if you attach it so we can upload it to our servers.
  • The only formatting that works with our copy and pasting are the regular page breaks; and they will only work for one line. (So you can not double space lines)

Guidelines and Notes:

  • English only.
  • Each chapter must be finished and proofread before you ask us to post it in the fanworks section. (Though we can fix a few typos if you notice them later. Just post them in that specific thread's comments)
  • Sending us the text pasted into an email is best. Other methods may be fine but I do not accept microsoft word documents.
  • Do not have any breaks in the lines, or have it so the story is just one large block of text. This is unacceptable.
  • All stories need their own form info sent in. Poems just need a title before each one and/or a collective title to post them under, but otherwise can be grouped and can use one form.
  • Chapters: You do not have to break them up between emails, just make sure the chapter breaks are clear- like by having numbers and/or titles separating them.
  • We will not post anything that is a mess. Put some care into your work.
  • We can not accept graphic material. Sexual situations can be implied but need to be marked as "Teen" or "Young Adult." Blood and gore should not be overly descriptive. Please use your best judgement.
  • Sometimes we will only have time to skim a work before posting it. If something messed up got past us, please let us know.

I want to thank Elfwood for their tutorial, I had to reference it to know what to write here.

Full Length Comics Email Submission Form: Copy & Paste

Use this only if you want us to host your comic on this site. If you would like us to only link to your comic: then submit the info for it as a project and/or as a web comic.

  • Username:
  • Title:
  • Number of Chapters:
  • (Cover Art. Do you have a page/image we can use as a cover?)
  • Finished or Ongoing (pick one)
  • Date:
  • Materials Used:
  • Critiques Welcome: Yes/No
  • Sources to Credit:
  • Description/Comments:

Explanations:

  • Number of Shorts/Chapters: Just the current number that you are sending in that relate to each other. Please send in all the chapters you have finished at once so you can use the one form. If you do more later: then link us to what they belong with.
  • Finished or Ongoing: Your short story or chapter needs to be finished before you send it in, but that doesn't mean your overall story has to be finished. • Date : You can give us the date you started and the date you finished. If it is ongoing, we will write "start date-ongoing."

Note: We post full length comics in a publication reader: that is why we need you to submit by chapter, and not by page. Only Melora can do this because it requires access to the server. If you have a long, ongoing, work that does not have traditional chapters: then please just send us the new pages in groups. 10+ pages in each group would be best- until you finish. Do not send a page at a time. That would be an insane amount of work for Melora: The publication readers are hand coded. This means the pages are added manually and not through a script, like coppermine. Each link for "next page" and "last page" has to be changed by hand. In large groupings she can use a template though, and that saves a lot of time.
