History of Hyrule

Last Update:

  • April 19, 2021: Follow me on Twitter, Blogger, or Flickr for updates. They're rolling out pretty strong. Contact me at any of those places or by email if you have art, manga, or questions for me. And scroll down to find links to the publication's section. It's huge.

  • April 3, 2021: Still doing a crazy amount of work on the official art gallery on flickr. As I go I'm reorganizing, doing major editing and clean up work on some of the cooler images, I'm getting rid of duplicates that are no longer needed since we have better images now, (though I have a lot more of that to do,) and I'm hunting through the internet and my archives for things that could have been missed. Once I get a lot more done I hope to come back to edit the backgrounds out of the items, character, and enemy art. I'm starting to use the twitter account now too

  • March 22, 2021: I've been doing major updates to the flickr gallery, be sure to check it out at the link above. Mainly I've been organizing all of my zelda archives trying to make sure I find all of the art I have saved or scanned. It's wild how time consuming that is. And, for whatever reason, I decided to fix a ton of the broken images in the quest section of the old History of Hyrule. Nostalgia, I guess!

  • March 16, 2021: Got another 1100+ pages scaned, mostly of art books, so I'm going to be working on finishing up parts of the official gallery on flickr. Also signed up for a pro account there so I can add more and so browsing will be a nicer experience. Fixed the site a bit- there's still some ugly code and messes but it should at least be less broken looking now.

  • March 6, 2021: After another 7 year hiatus it looks like I might do some work again. I want to get the old Hyrule Fantasy and Adventure of Link mangas translated so I'm going to clean up this broken site a little and then see what I can do!

  • 07/07/14: The translated version of Volume 1 Chapter 3 of Cagiva's LttP manga has been uploaded. Refresh if you don't see the changes!
  • 07/05/14: Volume 1 Chapter 2 of Cagiva's LttP manga has been redone. I'm off to work on Ch3 now. Let me know if you find any typos or think any changes should be made. I'd be happy for the feedback.
  • 07/04/14: Happy 4th everyone! Here's an awesome little manga from a Hyrule Fantasy guide newly translated into English for the first time! Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen.
  • 07/03/14: I added an updated version of Volume 1 Chapter 1 for the Ataru Cagiva Link to the Past manga. I'm working on revamping the translations for the rest of it as we speak.
  • 07/03/14: After years and years of waiting here's the English translation of the final chapter of the Ataru Cagiva Link to the Past manga! I absolutely love this whole 3 volumes of work because of this chapter. Without knowing it, the author basically nailed the timeline and what happened in one version of Ocarina of Time. You have to check it out. ~And now I'm starting work on the revamping of volume 1.
  • 07/02/14: I don't know the real name of this douijnshi, but it's a very cute 25 page Smash Bros. one that I added not long ago and never announced~! Hope you like it! -Jessica R. let me know it's called "Dai Ranto Kuriningu du Razazu"
  • 07/01/14: Only one more chapter left after this! Here's chapter 5 (aka 17) of the Link to the Past manga in English. Refresh if you don't see the changes.
  • 06/26/14: The next chapter of LttP Volume 3 in English is up, chapter 4 (aka ch 16) Enjoy! The rest are coming shortly. -And again, let me know if you find typos or errors.
  • 06/25/14: Since I'm almost done with volume 3, I decided it would be a good time to think about finally revamping the online quality of volume 1. In preperation for that I made new, nice looking scans.
  • 06/24/14: Finished and added the English translation of chapter 3 (ch 15) of Ataru Cagiva's LttP Volume 3. Just refresh if you don't see the changes!
  • 06/23/14: Added a really cute 37 page Ocarina of Time doujinshi called Arano no Hateni!
  • 06/22/14: Finished and added the English translation of chapter 2 (ch 14) of Ataru Cagiva's LttP Volume 3. I also added the downloadable zips for both chapters. If you spot any typos or weird phrasing, please let me know. I jumped right in without a proofreader. Also, anything not translated is a SFX, not an actual word. The sounds really don't make a big difference and it takes twice as much work to do the editing for them... So I figured it was more important to get this rolling. AKA: I'm just skipping them.
  • 06/21/14: Forgot to post this here on the main page but I added the English translation of chapter 1 (ch 13) of LttP volume 3.
  • 06/21/14:Finished uploading a new 79 page doujinshi called Zelda Collect. It's super cute and features stuff from a bunch of the games!
  • 06/20/14: Just added a beautiful new 41 page Twilight Princess doujinshi called "Twilight Kiss." It's by the same artist as "Complete Princess" -Enjoy!
  • 06/20/14: After fiddling with it all morning, I still can't get all of the images to work on the forum. Oh well. The attachments all got corrupted when I downloaded during the back-up them too. It's a big loss but I'll just move on to work on other things for now and hope I can come back to it later.
  • 06/19/14: After only about two decades, volume 2 of the Ataru Cagiva Link to the Past manga is completely in English! Enjoy! (We have volume 3 translated, I'm going to start that right away.)
  • 06/16/14: Added two newly translated chapters, 4 (10) and 5 (11), of the Ataru Cagiva Link to the Past manga volume 2!
  • 05/31/14: Sorry about that absence... Crazy year full of sad stuff. But I got an awesome doujinshi called Memory added to the site today, and Joe Steve and I should have 2 new chapters of the LttP Cagiva manga edited and added soon. I still haven't gotten to hardly any of the notes and email I've recieved over the past year... I wish I could do more than apologize about that. Thank you for all the help and good will you've all written with though! It's meant a lot.
  • 03/24/14: The full site is coming back online! The forum may take a few days and the guestbook will be down. Sorry it took so long, life has been insane.
  • 01/26/14: Welp, the site is still getting hacked so I'm going to take the forum down in the near future just to eliminate that as a security hole. And if that doesn't work I'll just bring it back online again. Basically- my host can not figure out how they are getting in. Anyway, I have a backup saved and, for people helping with translations, I made another manual backup of some of the posts so that work would not risk being lost. And no worries, I will not be taking down the publications section during all this. That means the image files below will stay live. There is no reason to remove them so those areas can keep operating in this shell-like format. Sorry though! The whole situation is really lame.
  • ---Took a big break due life, health, and some hacking!
  • 08/29/13: Completed the Link's Awakening Gallery!
  • 08/29/13: Zelda Europe has the new Wind Waker HD art.
  • 08/29/13: Added new art for LttP2: A Link Between Worlds.
  • 08/28/13: Added over 100 images of some very useful LttP art to the flickr gallery, this is fan stuff by Plague52x but it looks official.
  • 08/28/13: More of our art gallery was featured on Kotaku!
  • 08/28/13: Info for Wind Waker HD & the Zelda themed WiiU, there's a Ganondorf statue, A Link Between Worlds comes out on Nov 22 and there's new box art, and if you attend the Symphony in Seattle you'll get a chance to play both new games. There's also a 2DS coming out if you want a cheaper 3DS without the "3D."
  • Hung out with TML, Lysia, and Sage of Winds & now I'm back!
  • 07/19/13 - 08/26/13: I'll be pretty absent~ I have guests staying with me, then I'll be out of town, then there are more guests. Have a great summer everyone!
  • 07/18/13: New Webcomic Site Alert! Louisa, who use to run another webcomic site called Independent Zelda, is back at it. • 07/07/13: A new interview with the Symphony of the Goddesses Composer and Producer by Feri, plus help by joining the Latinamerican Fan Effort! The Facebook Effort. The Change.org Petition
  • Sorry for the lack of updates. I was actually doing stuff for the site, I just had so much going on that I forgot to update the main page.
  • 06/28/13: There is LttP remake art missing from the web. If you save official art, please see this. There's a good chance you can help!
  • 06/28/13: The Legend of Cosplay is holding a contest, check it out.
  • 06/19-20/13: Been working on this facebook cause, "Nintendo Please Give Princess Zelda a Stronger Role" -Please join and spread the word for others to join. It will only work with your support!

"Aonuma, one of the creators of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series, has said he would entertain the idea of a playable Princess Zelda if enough people have "strong feelings about it." Well, we do! Join and let him hear your voice."

"'Stronger' can mean a lot of things. The character the Legend of Zelda series is named after is the ruler of a country with the Power of Wisdom and the Gods at her disposal, yet she's often represented as a damsel in distress. While she's had great moments as characters like Sheik and Tetra, she more often than not feels like a background character, overshadowed by the two other Triforce bearers, Link and Ganon. Nintendo, the fans, male and female, have wanted this for so long: please give Princess Zelda future roles more befitting of her actual attributes. And, if you see fit, make her a playable protagonist."

  • 06/17/2013: Doing some behind the scenes stuff and I appear to have lost some art. I'm going to look around some more but I may be asking for help with that. I hope it's not gone forever.
  • 06/16/2013: Posted an incredibly rare illustrated, very sure never seen before, book called The Legend of the Dark Triforce.
  • 06/15/2013: Updated a bunch of minor things all over the site. Still really behind on emails and notes.
  • 06/14/2013: Added Vail's English translation of Electric Hyrule. Added the translation for "The First Summer" and more info for the adult section thanks to George O. Art and info for A Link Between Worlds is on the forums, and same for the new Smash Bros. game.
  • 05/29/2013: Added info on more doujinshi that we do not have, though I believe I am going to try to purchase 3 of them. Read more...
  • 05/29/2013: Updated the translation project list and the adult publication info section.
  • 05/28/2013: An even more detailed Link figurine & US Figma Link. Read more...
  • 05/26/2013: Check out these 3D printed Hyrule Fantasy items, and this Hyrule Fantasy comic by MyEgaku! Both are beyond amazing. The translation for Love Navigation 2 and a Mini-Manga were finished, so the rest will be in the works soon.
  • 05/24/2013: Added a new chapter in English for Vol. 2 of the Link to the Past manga. More info...
  • 05/24/2013: In attempt to use the forums more, and because I don't need to divert traffic because of Hyrule Historia any more, I'm going to stop using Blogger for updates. (I'm just going to keep it for emergencies. Like, if the site ever goes down, it will be a place you can check.) From now on news and site updates will be found on this main index page.

Other sites: feel free to link back here now. Things should be taken care of. Though, if you could link to our site updates on Blogger instead, it should help keep a bad traffic spike from ever happening again. So, yeah, I've been updating frequently on blogger, follow us there. You can even request art! I also added a feed, so it doesn't look like the site is dead when this page doesn't change. But, in case you missed them, here are the very recently updated publications:

2 Chapters in English!

Beno has been translating & editing this Adventure of Link manga by Daisuke Shigoto. For the first time ever you can start to read it in English! Look for more translations in the future! Beno is awesome, and you should know him: he's worked on all the manga by Ataru Cagiva, and the Himekawa LttP manga. You can also see all 3 volumes of this in Japanese.

The Lost Chapters!

This is the missing 3rd volume of another Adventure of Link manga, by Ranmaru. It was only printed in a magazine, a chapter per month... 24 years ago. It's amazing it's complete and that we're finally able to have it ~all thanks to a Japanese fan named Kannon. This series is an awesome little set that you will only end up loving; start with the original LoZ volume, and then move on to read the 1st volume of AoL. Chapter 1 of that is already in English!

Translated, Beautiful, Twilight Princess Doujinshi:

Rinael and Cavalier did an absolutely stellar job translating and localizing this gorgeous comic. It's 83 pages in English! Please, check it out and let us know what you think~ We'd love to be able to hear from you, or just chat with you, about the works we have posted, or even know what you would like to see worked on next!

Some other things of note:

The site is up again! Sort of. I need to keep traffic low, so please do not announce it is up, let people find it slowly... and here's some other key points:

Hyrule Historia: It's been for preorder on Amazon Japan on and off for days now. They ship internationally. If you don't see the orange shopping cart button, check back on it later.

You might be able to order it from any import shop, such as Kinokuniya, by ISBN & Publisher. This would save you a great deal on shipping. That info is:

  • Publisher: Shogakukan
  • ISBN-10: 409227159X
  • ISBN-13: 978-4092271593
  • Price: 3,255 yen (roughly $41.00)

Buying used copies does not support the publisher. Poor sales for all comic publishers are why we never got a Twilight Princess manga after all, so it's our duty as fans to support the items we love with our cash! :D

Anyone using Hyrule Historia or Skyward Sword Manga scans with a watermark for this site on them need to stop & remove them from the web. I never want to post anything on History of Hyrule that is still in print, or have this site tied to images on the web that are of something in print: it looks disrespectful. It is also against my ethics: I do the old scanlation "honor among thieves" rules. It's why I don't post doujinshi until it is at least 2 years old, and I didn't even have the Himekawa manga, that I had worked on in the past, uploaded here: I just had info pages on where to buy it. I really only had images because I never expected this to be reprinted. They didn't do reprints of their other "high demand" art & info books. The only time I'll post "in print" scans is if it's a small section of the overall work, so like an interview from a magazine.

Free 2012 Zelda Calendar:

Need a calendar for this year? How about: do you want an AWESOME (unofficial) Zelda calendar for this year?  It's free, all you have to do is download it and hit print!

Go here to download it!  There's a version for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres ~and you can pick the download size and type that works best for you.

The fanart calendar contest we did resulted in some amazing entries. Here's the 12 I picked for the main one, but I provided a blank calendar template, along with all the other entries, so you can make your own version comprised of your favorite pieces! Find all of that here.

For all the new visitors:

Sorry for all the unfinished sections, the site was just reopened on the 15th. Only the publication's section is built. The official art gallery will be massive though. I'm starting that after the holidays, so please come back to visit it!

The site was down, but this was my index page update from the 7th-10th:

January 9, 2012: The reason the site crashed is because of too much traffic. My tiny site was not meant to accommodate that many users, and it never will be. The traffic is so high it may cost me my host, which would mean at least another month of downtime. It would also cost me countless hours of work that I would rather spend getting neat stuff done for everyone.

Hyrule Historia will NOT be found here.

My sincere apologies, but you can forget you ever heard that.

The only point of anything was to have translations. Please, do not come here looking for the book, or anything but its purchasing info. I need to get my site back online for my other projects, and I can't do that if waves of people keep coming back looking for something they're not even going to find. Right now let's just all pray for a reprint.

It is currently out of print. If they do reprint it, Jan 10, 2012: They have announced a reprint! It is for preorder on Amazon Japan. They ship internationally.

You might be able to order it from any import shop by ISBN & Publisher. This would save you a great deal on shipping. That info is:

  • Publisher: Shogakukan
  • ISBN-10: 409227159X
  • ISBN-13: 978-4092271593
  • Price: 3,255 yen (roughly $41.00)

Buying used copies does not support the publisher. If the publisher does a reprint, the most respectful thing to do would be to remove any untranslated full page scans from the internet and to buy a copy directly from them through a real shop. Doing this means they may want to make more of this kind of thing in the future! That would be a dream! Poor sales for all comics publishers are why we never got a Twilight Princess manga after all, so it's our duty as fans to support the items we love with our cash! :D

Let's do something else proactive as well. Let's ask Nintendo, in unison, to make more of it and for the rest of us.

Nintendo, please bring us Hyrule Historia in English!

Fans: Please join our cause on facebook and encourage others to do so as well! I know it's unlikely, but there's no harm in giving it a shot.

Thank you!

Quick Update on the hot-mess that was January 5 through today:

Favorite quote on the matter? History of Hyrule: "We all love it so much we made it explode."

If you weren't following us at Facebook or DA, all that happened was a sever overload because there were too many people rushing here. Thousands and thousands in just 2-3 hours. My host did a block on my site to keep the other sites on the shared server from suffering, they didn't even have time to send me a warning, but... urgh. They finally restored it, but I have chosen to keep a lot of things off-line. I'm doing this because I need to make sure I have back-ups, just in case people rush back and my hosts decides to boot me off their service for having another extreme usage spike. This is a big problem, it's looking likely I will need another host, which sucks, because it's such a pain to move. What's funny though is that a month after the original History of Hyrule launched in 2002, the exact same thing happened (but that was on angelfire.) Ah, history, always repeating.

Hyrule Historia: Let's do something else proactive as well. Let's ask Nintendo, in unison, to make more of it and for the rest of us.

Nintendo, please bring us Hyrule Historia in English!

Fans: Please join our cause on facebook and encourage others to do so as well! I know it's unlikely, but there's no harm in giving it a shot.

Hyrule Historia Update 6:56pm CST (GMT -6:00)

The floodgate has opened. A massive amount of scans and translations are rolling out, I'm collecting them at the forum as they are located. I'm also collecting all the images I know of, you can find them here.

Skyward Sword Manga:

I've been updating as the new translated pages come in. I tend to do update announcements on The Forum and on Facbook. Please join either (or both) to keep up to date!

Hyrule Historia News:

Yes, my copy should be on the way. DHL held it up for nearly a week because they're an awful, awful service in North America. I continue to update the Hyrule Historia thread with all the new images and news I can find. If you have anything to add, please do it!

Complete Princess:

Translated! A year or so ago there was a lot of hype about a Twilight Princess manga that had a few pages appear on some other site. It was called Complete Princess and (sadly) it wasn't actually 'manga,' it was just a beautiful doujinshi (FAQ) During the time we were re-building this site, it was brought to my attention that we actually had it and that we were already translating it. The reason we didn't know it straight away was because Complete Princess is a compilation of the doujinka's earlier works (and she has a lot of material!) We had been working on the volumes that came before it was put together. Long story short: It took me a while to get back to it, because of all the other news that popped up once the site launched, but I finally got the last few story based pages edited and uploaded. All that is left now is some 4koma (jokes) at the end. We'll do them, but it might come after a few other things. Rinael and Cavalier did an amazing job translating and localizing this. They do brilliant work together and have a hand in many of the translated works found on this site. The fact that last few story pages still do need a little tweaking is my fault- so you can read them now, but come back in a week or so if you want to save them because the wording will be even better (and they can catch any typos I made ;) Even if you don't think you'll like the style, you should give it a chance. I honestly think it's worth it. So, please go read it; and as tell us what you think about it, and our other publications, on the forums! Nice comments go a long way. They might even help get something you like translated!

Translated Manga and Doujinshi:

We have a ton of, never before seen on the web, Zelda doujinshi and official manga. Thanks to an ongoing translation project, (that we could use help with) a lot of it is in English and some other languages. Below are just some of the things you can read in English on this site. And, if you like something, or would like to see something else translated, please comment on their threads in the publication's forum!

Charity Event!

On December 27th to the 31st MarathonMan.net will be hosting their first game marathon event in hopes to raise money for the American Humane Society. They're a new group, please show them your support! The HSUS is an amazing organization and, during hard time, with more pets are being abandoned and turned over: The help is certainly needed.

Free 2012 Zelda Calendar:

December 31:

Holy crap, it's amazing! Happy New Years Eve everyone! The Skyward Sword Prequel Manga! Beno is already working on translating these as we speak, so we should know what they say in no time. (Don't forget, there are two translated sketch pages here.) I have to run but... Ah, this is so spectacular! & come talk about what is going on in them at the forums!

December 31 part 2:

I honestly think it's worth it. So, please go read it; and as tell us what you think about it, and our other publications, on the forums! Nice comments go a long way. They might even help get something you like translated!

December 29:

Thanks to thanks to Ogatamon we got translations for the Skyward Sword manga preview sketches: Check them out. (The images will take you to larger pages.) I'd love to know what the new Akira Himekawa interview says as well. It would be amazing if it talked about how much the developers were actually involved with their Skyward Sword manga. If you're interested in translating it, please do: You could just post it on the forums or email it to me!

For all the new visitors:

Sorry for all the unfinished sections, the site was just reopened on the 15th. Only the publication's section is built. The official art gallery will be massive though. I'm starting that after the holidays, so please come back to visit it!

December 24:

Merry Christmas Everyone! There's only a few minutes left before it's the 25th and I've added all the translations and info for Hyrule Histora to this page. Earlier I uploaded screengraps from the video, as well as all the known pages, to Hyrule Histora's Publication's Page. (You may need to refresh for the changes. Also, the page links have changed but the image file locations have not.) The screengrabs should help you browse the video as well as showing off the neat art. & if you didn't know, I've been posting all the current timeline information on the forum. Please join us there!

December 23:

Timeline Accomplished! If you haven't seen it, friend of the site GlitterBerri has translated the timeline based on what she could read from this video of the book. Go to her site to read it. And here's the video showing a lot of the pages:

If you have a problem with the timeline, looks like you'll have to take it up with Aonuma. He was the supervising editor, which means he would have a very strong hand in this. Again, we've been posting updates on the forums and will continue to do so. Holidays are hectic, so it's what I can do from my phone.

December 21:

Beno has more translations for the Hyrule Histora book: They're on the forums. I'll keep updating that thread with the translations I find. And here's a link to the large pages we have. Mid-Day Update: Kotaku posted a chart of the timeline someone from a Korean blog posted. We need a back up translation if anyone gets a Japanese version. So, a lot of places are selling this book. They're not shipping until around the 30th though. If you find a place that has it ready to send now: please email me asap so I (or someone else) can get scans online. I ordered my copy from amazon days ago, but there's no harm in having two.

Don't miss the free 2012 fanart calendar we put together! The final results were insanely awesome. If you want to see what I mean, you can find the images for the 12 winners here. There were so many good ones that I uploaded a blank template so you can make your own calendar.

December 20:

Beno did a translation of some of the Hyrule Histora pages- specifically about timeline! I posted them on the forums. It looks like a timeline confirmation for sure. If you're a Legends Alliance member, you can find it here.

December 19:

Skyward Sword Manga & Nintendo Dream Magazine: The Nintendo Dream with a Skyward Sword manga preview is here. I have the large scans of all the pages with Zelda stuff on them posted here. If anyone wants to translate anything, please do so in its thread!

Hyrule Historia News: Thanks to Tawny we were able to post the large scans from the released, and some unseen, pages of Hyrule Historia on the site as well, they come from the publisher's web page. You can find them here. We should be getting this book ASAP. Zelda Dungeon also posted some interesting information I'd love to see confirmed. Please check out the forum thread about it for more.

Charity Events!

  • The 4/18 Zelda Maraton is going on right now for Child's Play Charity. Please give them a visit and consider donating to this great cause.

New Doujinshi Added!

My mom arrived today to stay with us for the holidays; so though I can't take on the large tasks like starting the official art gallery, I can take a few moments to upload goodies like this! Enjoy! And comment on the doujinshi you like! It's so much more fun when we can all talk about these things. ♥

Thank you to everyone who has signed the guestbook already. Your notes have been awesome and touching, and they're inspiring me to want to work even harder. (And, I can't lie, it's just really fun to see names there too!) Thank you so much! Also, Mases, you rock! Thanks so much for the shout-out. Zelda Dungeon rules! Seriously. Everyone should love that site. I do.

A note: I'll also be spending these weeks answering emails, getting back to judging the fanfics, and editing the Ataru Cagiva Link to the Past manga (I can do it because JayEye is helping!) as well as editing Shuushou: the next part of Complete Princess. We already have it fully translated and beautified thanks to Rinael and Cavalier, I'm just in the process of finishing adding the text to the pages.

By the way, if you want to help out with the translation project, so we can get more manga and doujinshi to more people, please consider it! You'll find info on that here.

New Artbook & Manga Preview!

Other cool news for today?

Thanks go to Crazyfreak for bringing this to my attention:

Quoted from Neogaf user Duckroll via neogaf

Here’s a breakdown of what’s in the book based on the table of contents:

  • Detailed Skyward Sword stuff broken into various sections: 67 pages
  • The World of Hyrule detailed in several sections including a timeline:
  • 70 pages
  • Artwork for the individual games:
  • Legend of Zelda – 4 pages
  • Link’s Adventure & Link to the Past – 2 pages
  • Link’s Awakening – 1 page
  • Ocarina of Time – 6 pages
  • Majora’s Mask – 3 pages
  • Wind Waker – 10 pages
  • Oracle series – 6 pages
  • Twilight Princess – 32 pages
  • Phantom Hourglass – 4 pages
  • Spirit Tracks – 22 pages
  • The rest of the book contains an evolution of Link’s character designs over the years, a catalog of Zelda games, and some other extra stuff.

Official Information can be found on Nintendo's Japanese site. It drops on the 21st in Japan. I hope NoA releases it in English as well. We'll see. And even though it looks as if the older games are getting jilted again, at least this is an awesome trend. I'm glad Nintendo is realizing the fans love art.

So, if you don't know me, let me assure you that I will be getting this for scans as soon as possible. Just like the Zelda Box, and the History of Zelda art collection, there's no possible way I can resist Zelda art!

Welcome Back to History of Hyrule!

Wow, I kind of can't believe this is happening. The site is open... for real. After a nearly 8 year hiatus. When I closed the original History of Hyrule due to health, I always wanted to bring it back. That was always the plan and what was always in my heart. It's been a long road for me since then... but it finally exists again! I'm so happy!

I seriously can't thank everyone enough; all the people who have stuck by me and cheerleaded for this place to be here again. It's meant the world to me. The old site was such an amazing experience, and it's because of all of you, and your love for Zelda, that my desire to do this was kept so strong and alive. I never dreamed I could like Zelda more than I already did when I started the original site- but it made it happen. I want to return that feeling. I want to make a site with all of you that inspires people to love the Legend of Zelda even more. I hope History of Hyrule lives up to that dream.

Most of all I need to thank Louisa, Ren, Annie, Anastasia , TML (it was his birthday yesterday!,) Rinael, Cavalier, JayEye, Lord of Shadow, Saphine, Mak, Fenrisfang, Cyen, Mases, Kyomu, Beno, Crazyfreak, Mandy, Adella, Moonlight Nostalgia, Kitty and Chechi, Hylian Blood, Final Destiny, Archaic Sage, Masamune, Mariam, and Davogones. (& Keyless Lock, Hhykl, ...I really hope I get to see the both of you again!) This is possible because of all of you and your awesomeness ... and there are still so many people left that I should be mentioning!

Thank you to everyone who has already come back to the forums. I hope we can make it as wonderful as it once was. Every old member that I see posting there has brought me so much joy. Like Junior Rubay! You're kind of the spirit of the forum. Yay! Now that the site has launched, I hope I can finally spend a little more time there too.

History of Hyrule isn't as finished as I'd like it to be, but it will get there. The inner frames aren't as pretty as I want to make them. I'm sad the official art gallery isn't ready; that was always the heart of the site & the original reason for making it way back in 2002. I'm bummed that there aren't more fanworks uploaded too. It's really silly because I wrote a bunch of you guys ages ago, because I wanted to open featuring all of the artist's I admire, but... I'll stop making excuses and say "on the bright side:" at least now I can add a few every week and give the art the attention it deserves. Accept my apologies and know that I'm still totally doing it!

On the other-hand: The publication's section is absolutely insane and will only continue to grow. You really must check it out. You'll know where I spent all my time, (and a bunch of other people's.) There is a ton of stuff there that you have never seen before. That's a promise!

The 2012 fanart calendar is also finished, you can find it free to download here. Thanks must go to everyone who expressed interest in it and helped make it so incredibly, mind-blowingly, awesome. It really is great! And don't forget that you can make your own calendar featuring your favorites! I think that's the best part about it. Come back in a month and we'll be doing it again for 2013!

Don't forget to sign the guestbook! Please do it! Ah, I want to see what country everyone is from! Plus, saying something nice about the site in your note earns you mega-brownie points from me :3

So, here we go! A new quest; it's both scary and exciting! Help keep me true to myself and lets make this place a haven for all things awesome again. I could never do it without you. We'll make it exactly what Zelda is about!
